IMO not making it truly Blizzlike and just copying private servers is a huge mistake. Same quality or better quality, same results or better results, no changes or changes, the decision is Blizzard's and Activision's.' If they want better results then they will fix what is broken (non-healing hybrid specs for example). If Blizzard wants similar results then they will go with no changes. Blizzard can and should learn a great deal from the privates. After 6 months, what percentage of the privates' players still play? 12 months? 2 years? If they both start at 1.12 the percentages are likely to be similar. 'Empyrically speaking, the statistics should be about the same even if the base numbers are different. The ONLY thing 1.12 private is ok for is wpvp. You don't even get a real vanilla experience leveling on private servers.
None of the mobs behave right on 1.12 servers. Not to mention that all scripting outside Gummy's is a joke and Gummy refuses to give his code to anyone if Blizzard does Vanilla right.
Most players don't even have or look at a threat meter and they all quit before Naxx anyways, because people in Naxx and rank 14 gear less than a year into the game makes everyone else quit and then the better players have to roll F R E S H to. The funny thing is the people practicing or 'raiding' on 1.12 servers who have no idea if Blizzard does this right, all their 'practice' was good for nothing. A few thousand players rerolling on 1.12 is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions who will play Classic. They WON'T when they don't even get a year out of it. Normal people will invest time in a 60 if they get that kind of time out of it. 1.12 servers have classes doing 4 times the dps they did in their vanilla spec until AQ which breaks raiding and PvP because the 'master class' is half the people that PvP and raid dps now since they can do more dps in BIS blues than other classes can in AQ gear. 1.12 servers usually screw up itemization which means raiding is even more faceroll.ĥ.
This leads to the entire server dying and people rerolling to the new F R E S H.Ĥ. This leads to an accelerated progression and people clearing nax well before a year.ģ. 1.12 servers have broken raiding until Naxx that is = to LFR due to threat being broken, unlike real vanilla WoW. Toxic players got nowhere in Vanilla WoW and that is why the community on private is much worse than real Vanilla was.Ģ. It gives toxic players access to easy gear (rank 10 isn't hard) that surpasses tier 1 that Vanilla didn't. 1.12 private servers immediately put in BG's which splits the community. BLIZZARD ATTENTION!!! A PRIVATE SERVER NAMED LIGHTS HOPE FRESH is releasing a server named northdale and it looks like itll have around 20k players!
